No advanced skills are needed. It's very easy and convenient to use. You will need to know how to download and install the software. The operation is easy.

An email address is needed to register for Jing. Microphone is needed to capture screen videos.
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of using this tool in a teaching/training environment?
Advantages: It's free. It's conveninet to capture both pictures and videos. The pictures can be edited with color texts, marks, and arrows. The pictures can be saved or just copied to paste on the place you want, without saving. The videos can be saved onshared on Jing website and others can view it with the link.
Disadvantages: The video can only be within 5 minutes. When using Jing and Powerpoint slides to capture videos, the animations and transitions sometimes are not reflected smoothly. The editing function for the captured picture is limited, with only simply marking functions available.
- How would you use this tool in your classroom/institution/organization?
It can be used to create tutorials both pdf or word document with captured pictures and tutorial videos. It can also be used as a reflective tool for students. Students can share their thoughts through sharing the captured videos on Jing website.
